Find release dates and scores for every major upcoming and recent video game release for all platforms, updated several times per week. The song “I Am Astro Bot [Playroom Remix],” which repeats the title and plays on the opening menu, is enough to make it a catchy earworm. While it’s not the game’s fault, it makes every exclusive PS5 game feel like it lacks DualSense exclusivity.
The T. Rex makes many other appearances in Astro’s Playroom, including the Dreams reference in Renderforest and some of the screens in the PlayStation Labo area. In the PlayStation Labo area, the wall skirting just above the floor contain references to various PlayStation hardware ports. In the picture above, you can spot the PSP, PS Vita and PSP Go port and button layouts from the top and bottom of the systems.
The HD Camera follows in the footsteps of the PlayStation Camera, PS Eye and EyeToy before it. The odd clam design is actually so that the lower “jaw” can be pulled down to help perch the camera on top of a television. It’s also the first PlayStation camera that, via the PS5’s software, can remove the background behind the player. The PlayStation 3 used Blu-Ray discs as its optical storage method, a format that would be used for the PlayStation 4 and 5 as well. Because every PS3 came with an internal hard drive, many games supported partially installing data onto the console in advance (which some PS2 games also did, especially in Japan).
Spyro’s wings notably use the inaccurate anatomy present in the original game; later titles gave it correct bat anatomy. G28 has a second reference with the “Ready for the Proving” Trophy, awarded for shooting a Spitter’s shot with the bow and arrow in Raytrace Ruins. Um Jammer Lammy gets a second reference in the “It’s All in the Mind” Trophy, awarded for beating three enemies quickly with Punches. This is a reference to Chop Chop Master Onion, who gives Lammy this piece of advice early in the game.
Erros Comuns De Iniciantes Em Astro’s Playroom

It’s really mind-blowing and is frankly impossible to articulate in words. And the way the adaptive triggers provide resistance for pulling down on things like a robot spring or the string of a bow is wonderful. The DualSense is the most innovative update to game controller technology since the debut of the analog stick. Each level also features a suit of some sort he puts on to take the form of something else, such as a spring-loaded robot or even a large metallic ball, reminiscent of Marble Madness. These segments are relatively short-lived but do a good job of shaking up the formula so the running and jumping doesn’t get too stale too quickly.

It’s a wonderful celebration of PlayStation’s history but the absolute best moment is the final boss battle which is so perfectly handled we almost died of nostalgia playing it. Past games are also celebrated in fine style thanks to the little skits that are always going on in the background, often involving other bots playing the role of famous game characters. You also find a monkey suit for climbing and a fun nod to Marble Madness that must have been suggested by, or intended as homage to, PlayStation 5 architect Mark Cerny who created the original game.
This was usually done via Sony’s proprietary PSSR technique (which stands for PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution). It also supports customizeable controller profiles that can be selected via one of the two Fn switches below the analog sticks. Four profiles can be loaded onto the controller itself, letting them be taken to other PS5 systems. This also allows the currently-selected profile to be used on other platforms, such as a PC. The same as the previous artefact, but specifically designed to be held by a right hand!
Puzzle Piece 1/4 – Right at the start of the area, pull the wire on the right side to reveal this puzzle piece. Artifact 2/2 “DUALSHOCK 4 Wireless Controller” – From the location of puzzle piece 4, drop down to the right where you can see the line of coins and grab another monkey bar. Puzzle Piece 4/4 – Now instead of progressing upward from that puzzle piece, go to the right side of that monkey bar to reach another handhold up to the right, which drops the wall to the right. In this area, there are some spinning shapes on the walls and a puzzle piece directly in the middle of the right one you can grab.
Astro’s Playroom: Controls
Once you are ready, head to Gusty Gateway in the Memory Meadow as shown in the picture below. Each level has four distinct stages, and nearly all are filled with PlayStation Easter eggs. All the modern flagship series – Uncharted, God of War, Spider-Man, and The Last of the Us – make appearances, but there are also callbacks to the days of the original PlayStation. Some franchises and games, such as Gran Turismo, are relegated to references in trophy descriptions, which have not been listed below. Unfortunately, there are no plans for Astro’s Playroom DLC, so there may not be a chance to go Easter egg hunting again. However, it is one of those things that are much funnier for someone watching than for someone experiencing it firsthand.
